Our club welcomes boys and girls in Kindergarten to 8th grade. We group wrestlers by age and skill level to ensure a safe and positive learning environment.

Not at all! We welcome beginners as well as experienced wrestlers. Our coaches provide instruction tailored to all skill levels.

Practices are typically held at the Philomath High School Wrestling Room. Times vary by age group and season. Season typically starts in November.

What is the Mat Club, and how is it organized?

Our Mat Club is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting youth wrestling in our community. We are governed by a Board of Directors, made up of parent volunteers and community members who help guide the club’s mission, policies, and long-term goals.

The club relies on the time, energy, and support of our families to run smoothly—from coaching and event planning to fundraising and administration. Every dollar raised goes directly back into supporting the athletes through equipment, facilities, and program development.

We’re proud to be a community-driven club focused on building strong wrestlers and even stronger character.

We use the Heja app to keep everyone informed and connected. This free communication app allows us to share practice schedules, tournament info, team updates, and last-minute changes quickly and easily.
